Background and Analysis:
The Department uses performance measures to determine and communicate levels of success in delivering services to the community. This data-based approach measures whether the Department is meeting expectations in many different areas such as park acres, park condition, recreation activities, and access to art. The Department uses the performance metrics to help inform data-centered decisions, improve ability to tell data stories, improve performance, and demonstrate progress towards achieving the community's vision. Attached is a list of the Department's performance measures which will be presented in more detail at the meeting.

Additionally, an effort is underway to upload the City's performance measures to an online data dashboard that allows for easy access and interaction by the public. The Clearpoint software is currently being configured for each city department and is expected to be operational by the end of the year.

In 2023 the City began a subscription with Placer.ai, a location analytics company, to learn more about visitors to various locations in the City. Data about the number and demographic characteristics of park visitors can help inform park planning, grant applications, event organizing and recreation programming. An example report is attached to show a comparison of Lions Park and Woodruff Park during the summer months after the new spraygrounds were installed.
