Background and Analysis:
The Olympia Downtown Association (ODA) awards were presented at the ODA Annual Meeting on Jan. 25, 2016. The ODA Board of Directors select the President’s Award for Volunteer of the Year, which was given to Anna Schlecht, City of Olympia’s Housing Program Manager.
The ODA’s 2016 Business of the Year award is given to a business that has demonstrated a strong interest in keeping downtown a vibrant place for all. This year’s recipient is Thurston First Bank, represented by President and CEO Jim Haley. The ODA 2016 Person of the Year Award was presented to Mary Corso, downtown business owner and chair of the Parking and Business Improvement Area Board (PBIA).
