Background and Analysis:
The Promotional Fire Lieutenant Register was certified on April 19, 2016. Three candidates remain on the register and Civil Service rules allow for extending the duration of registers for an additional year. The fire department is requesting a one year extension due to upcoming vacancies because of anticipated retirements. Pursuant to Civil Service Rules, the Commission may extend the register so long as it does not extend beyond the two year limit.
Findings:
The Olympia Fire Department has requested extension of the Promotional Fire Lieutenant Register for an additional year pursuant to Civil Service rules. Three candidates remain on the register and would be eligible for appointment until April 19, 2018.
