Background and Analysis:
The City of Olympia and the LOTT Clean Water Alliance Partners have been working on wastewater reduction and water conservation projects since 1996. In 2012, the partners reached a significant milestone saving 1,000,000 gallons of water per day through program efforts. The program has since saved an additional 165,000 gallons per day. The 2019-2024 Water Conservation Coordination Plan will allow for further reduction in wastewater flows and water consumption. The Plan assists our residential and commercial customers in reducing their indoor water consumption through high-efficiency toilet and washing machine rebates, free water saving kits, better-than-code rebates for toilets and urinals, and Water Smart Technology rebates for commercial projects that reduce water use (e.g. ice machines, food steamers, rinsing and cleaning processes, etc.).
