Background and Analysis:
Each year, all Council Committees develop a work plan. The Finance Committee typically submits a basic plan to guide the Committee’s work for the upcoming year.
Some highlights of the 2019 work plan include: continuing monthly “budget snapshots” to educate the Committee on relevant budget and finance topics; discussing funding the City portion of a new Courthouse Complex and prioritizing other long-term capital projects that may require debt; discussing the scope of work to evaluate minimum wage; and recommending policies for the Park, Arts, and Recreation Department’s operating, capital, and reserve funds.
The 2019 Finance Committee work plan allows time throughout the year to respond to emerging issues. Meetings are currently scheduled for the third Wednesday of every month starting at 5:30 pm.
