Background and Analysis:

The Transportation Benefit District (TBD) started collecting revenues in 2009.  On behalf of the Olympia TBD, the Washington State Department of Licensing collects a $40 fee at the time a registered vehicle is renewed within the City of Olympia.  The funds collected are used to improve, maintain, and construct local transportation projects.

Staff will present an overview of the City’s pavement management program and funding needs, to improve and maintain the City’s streets. Upcoming projects using TBD funds will also be reviewed.

Neighborhood/Community Interests (if known):

Staff is preparing a mailer for Olympia residents to highlight the TBD and the important transportation projects funded by the TBD.
