Background and Analysis:
What to do
Review the applications, fill out the new member evaluation sheet, and bring it to the meeting.
Please note that the criteria on the new member evaluation sheet is meant to guide the process, not limit it. If you support an applicant for reasons not captured by the criteria on the evaluation sheet, feel free to say so during the meeting.
Background
The BPAC has three vacancies. The General Government Committee has requested that the BPAC submit its top five candidates to fill those vacancies.
Future process
Next year, the BPAC may choose to recommend new members differently. Rather than the whole Committee reviewing applications, you may:
1. Allow the Chair and Vice Chair to review applications and make a recommendation
2. Form a subcommittee to review applications and make a recommendation
3. Continue with the whole committee reviewing the applications
Options:
Option 1: Recommend five applicants to the General Government Committee and choose a process to follow next year
Option 2: Recommend fewer than five applicants and choose a process to follow next year
Option 3: Make no recommendation and choose a process to follow next year
Option 4: Make no recommendation and not choose a process to follow next year
Financial Impact:
None
