Background and Analysis:

Work Plan Development

City advisory committees review and forward their recommended work plan items to the City’s General Government committee each year. Advisory committee work plans cover the upcoming April 2020 to March 2021 time period.

Committee member Wilson requested an addition to the work plan that was presented in December 2019. He requested a quarterly reports/updates from staff on the utilities’ budget to actuals. Staff is providing the attached work plan, with Committee member Wilson’s addition, for consideration and approval. A motion is needed to approve the 2020-2021 work plan.

Staff will forward the UAC’s work plan to the General Government Committee, with Council adoption in March 2020.

Review Applications

The UAC will have three vacancies in 2020. The General Government Committee tasks the UAC with reviewing applications for potential members of the UAC. Chair Buffo and Vice Chair Bowerman reviewed four applications and provided a ranking of the candidates to the General Government Committee.

No motion needed at the February 6th meeting since all four candidates will receive an interview.

Officer Elections

The UAC needs to elect a Chair and Vice-Chair to take effect April 1, 2020. This can occur at either the February 6th or March 5th UAC meeting. The current Chair and Vice-Chair are Mike Buffo and Luke Bowerman, respectively. Note that Vice-Chair Bowerman’s UAC term expires at the end of March 2020 and he is not requesting re-appointment.

A motion is needed to approve the new officers.
