Cary Retlin, City of Olympia
Background and Analysis:
Since the March 11 meeting the City has engaged in many new actives related to COVID-19 response for low-income and homeless households. I will provide an overview of those activities.
Many staffing changes have also occurred. I’ll provide an overview of those changes including coverage plans while I’m on baby bonding leave (my desk will be covered by Amy Buckler, who you met at the March meeting).
I will also brief you on current projections for Home Fund revenue (I’ve been asked to prepare for a 19 percent revenue decline in 2020). If that comes to fruition we will have to substantially reduce our 2021 Construction Award. I am already cutting 2020 operating expenses for Home Fund and Utility Tax revenue expenditures.
Neighborhood/Community Interests (if known):
Homelessness and affordable housing are of high interest to Olympia residents and businesses.
