Background and Analysis:
On October 27, 2020, the Ad Hoc Public Safety Committee met to develop a draft Charter and workplan. The Committee provided feedback to staff, who will present the revised draft Charter and seek approval to forward it to the full City Council for consideration.
Neighborhood/Community Interests (if known):
The City is launching a community-wide public engagement process to re-imagine public safety in 2021.
Options:
1. Approve the draft Charter and direct staff to forward to Council for their consideration.
2. Direct staff to update the draft Charter based on Committee feedback and forward to Council for their consideration.
3. Direct staff to update the draft Charter based on Committee feedback and return for further review.
