Discuss existing and potential affordable housing programs within the City of Olympia and potential affordable housing programs and incentives in the future.

Background and Analysis:

At a previous meeting Planning Commission members requested that staff provide a background on affordable housing programs that the city administers.

 

This presentation will include an overview of city housing programs and services that the city administers, the status and challenges of those programs, and areas for opportunity for Olympia.

 

Topics covered in this presentation and discussion will include:

                     Home Fund Levy funded project status

                     Multifamily Tax Incentive (MFTE)

                     Community Development Block Grants (CDBG)

                     Impact Fee Abatement Program

                     Homeless Response

                     Mitigation Site

                     Plum Street Village and faith-based tiny homes

                     Property acquisition

                     Racial equity in housing

                     Supportive and Affordable Housing (funded by new ‘HB 1406’ revenue)
