Background and Analysis:

With the election of Olympia Mayor Pro Tem Jessica Bateman to the State Legislature in the November General Election, Olympia City Council Position #2 will become vacant on December 31, 2020.

 

The Olympia City Councilmembers are tasked with appointing a new member to serve in Position #2 until the certification of the November 2021 General Election, when the public will elect a candidate to fill the remainder of the Position #2 term. The term ends December 31, 2023.

 

Council will discuss and consider a proposed application and a proposed recruitment process and timeline for making the appointment.
