Background and Analysis:
On Thursday, March 25, seven applications for the Poet Laureate position were reviewed by a five-member committee. Four applicants were short-listed, and interviews are scheduled for 5pm, Thursday, April 1 (interviews follow publication of this agenda). Staff will present the recommendation during the April 8 Arts Commission meeting.

Financial Impact:
Annual fee for the Poet Laureate is $1,500 from the Municipal Art Fund, with $750 additional in reimbursable expense per year (two-year term).
