Background and Analysis:
Every six years, Olympia Parks, Arts and Recreation Department updates the Parks, Arts and Recreation Plan. The Plan includes the following nine chapters:
• Executive Summary
• Chapter 1: Introduction
• Chapter 2: Report of the Last Plan
• Chapter 3: OPARD Today
• Chapter 4: Community Involvement
• Chapter 5: Park and Facility Needs Assessment
• Chapter 6: Proposed Projects
• Chapter 7: Capital Facilities Plan
• Chapter 8: Goals and Policies
• Chapter 9: Performance Measures
Staff will review the contents of the Plan, including the priorities and capital projects proposed for the next six years.
The Plan is available at Engage Olympia (<https://engage.olympiawa.gov/parks-arts-recreation-plan>), along with an online survey and other associated materials from the planning process.

The Olympia community has shown long-standing support and interest in Olympia’s parks, arts and recreation system.
Options:
1. Receive the briefing and provide direction on the Plan’s priorities.
Financial Impact:
The Plan proposes capital projects in Chapter 7 for the next six years (2022-2028), as well as long-term options (2029-2041).
