Background and Analysis:
The presentation will include a brief overview of current economic recovery efforts associated with the ThurstonStrong Regional Economic Recovery and an introduction to a potential partnership with Pacific Mountain Workforce Development (PacMtn). The partnership with PacMtn would be to launch a program called Journey2Jobs which focuses on getting workforce services and income generating opportunities to our unhoused community. Representatives from Pacific Mountain Workforce Development will be attending and part of the presentation.

The concept of the Journey2Jobs program is rooted in the City's One Community plan which had broad community interest and participation in its creation. Strategy 1.7 of the One Community Plan states: Prioritize pathways to economic opportunity that help people find longer-term security.

Financial Impact:
As a part of the Economic Recovery package approved by Council in April 2021, a commitment of $1.25m for future ThurstonStrong efforts was made. The Journey2Jobs concept would utilize $650,000 of that funding.
