Background:
Linnaea Jablonski, the former Civil Service Secretary/Chief Examiner, resigned from city employment effective January 5, 2024. It is the Civil Service Commission’s responsibility to appoint a Secretary/Chief Examiner who carries out the business of the Civil Service Commission. It has been the commission’s long standing practice to appoint a City employee who is experienced in contemporary hiring and employment practices and Civil Service operations, and who has knowledge of police and fire department functions. The Secretary/Chief Examiner duties are not full time.
Findings:
The City recommends the appointment of Nicole Camus, Interim HR Director, to serve as the Civil Service Secretary/Examiner.
