Background and Analysis:
Community Planning and Development staff will provide an overview of the department’s land use and development processes. Emphasis will be placed on the application review process and the phases of development from presubmission conference, land use review, civil engineering, and building application. Other topics covered will include site plan development requirements, design review, and the administrative application types found in OMC 18.70 (Types I through IV) and how the type affects process. The intent of this overview is providing Planning Commissioners context for how the comprehensive plan and Olympia Municipal Code is applied when reviewing development applications for projects within the City of Olympia.
