Background and Analysis:
Retreat Date- Last year the Heritage Commission met in December for their annual retreat. The Commission will need to discuss if they would like to do the same this year and pick a date, or discuss if they would like to meet at another time. Note- commission work plans have been due in March, and last year it took two commission meetings to edit and vote on the finalized work plan.
November and December Meetings- The Commission will need to pick dates for November and December meetings, pending the conversation on when they would like to hold the retreat. Note- In previous years, the Commission usually takes December off. The 4th Wednesday in November is in conflict with the Thanksgiving holiday week, and the 4th Wednesday in December is in conflict with the Christmas holiday week.
Elections- The group will discuss who they would like to nominate as the Chair, Vice-Chair, and Committee Chairs for the new year. Additionally, staff will share the current status update on commission seats and if there may be vacancies in 2026.
