Background and Analysis:
Calls for Art include Art Crossing #4 and #5, and the Murals in Parks Pilot Project. These projects are on the 2026 Municipal Art Plan. Staff has been developing the Calls for Art and is scheduled for a meeting with the Council’s Community Livability and Public Safety (CLIPS) Committee on September 23, for review before opening the opportunities.

This meeting is for a line by line review of the draft Calls for Art, so that staff can take feedback and provide final draft versions for recommendation to the CLIPS Committee.

Climate Analysis:
These public art projects should not significantly impact the climate.

Equity Analysis:
Reviewing the Calls for Art allows for opportunity to build representation into the process, through the jury, neighborhood outreach, and distribution of the Calls for Art.

Staff presented the Art Crossing project to the Coalition of Neighborhood Associations on July 13, with members of the Northwest and Southwest Neighborhood Associations, and the West Central Park Neighborhood Center on August 20, and for the neighborhoods around the Henderson/Eskridge location on September 2. 2026.
