Issue:

Whether to approve payment for an emergency response lanyard and monthly payment for service in the amount of approximately $45.00.

Background:

Retired LEOFF 1 member is requesting reimbursement and ongoing monthly payment for an emergency response lanyard.  These devices and services was previously provided by the members Medicare Advantage Regence plan, however it is not covered in 2025.This request is not in accordance with the LEOFF Policies and Procedures as the Application for Payment of Services does not demonstrate it is medically necessary for the member to have this device.
