Issue:
Whether to amend Building and Engineering fee schedule to reflect staff time in providing multiple plan reviews on a single project, field inspections for the same project, and adding a fee for landscape and bicycle parking permits for commercial projects.

Background and Analysis:
We endeavor to charge for services at the cost of providing them. Some of our fees need to be adjusted to reflect the actual costs of providing those services. Currently we provide additional plan reviews and field inspections at the rate of $125.00 per hour. When factoring the full cost for staff, vehicles, equipment, overhead and support that rate is $175.00 per hour.
 
Additionally, we have not historically assessed a fee for providing a review and inspection for ascertaining compliance with commercial landscape and bicycle parking requirements. We are proposing a fee of $375.00 for landscaping plan review and $125.00 for bicycle parking review and inspection.

1. Approve attached ordinance as proposed amending fee schedule.
 
2. Do not approve fee amendment.
 
Financial Impact:
Option 1: Slight increase in revenue (substantially less than $5,000), and possible slight decrease in service demand.
