Background and Analysis:
The AWC Center for Quality Communities is accepting nominations for the 2013 Quality Communities Scholarshp program. The Center annually provides outstanding young leaders with $1,000 scholarships. Six scholarships will be awarded this year. The AWC Center for Quality Communities is a 501(c)(3) organization sponsored by the Association of Washington Cities.
 
Council asked Garden Raised Bounty (GRuB) to conduct a selection process for Olympia's nominee. Since 2001, GRuB has organized a series of youth programs. For 2011-2013 program years, GRuB has worked extensively with students from Olympia High School as part of the GRuB in Schools Pilot Project.
 
The nominee will be announced and introduced at tonight's Council meeting.
