Background and Analysis:
At the beginning of each calendar year, the Olympia City Council traditionally holds a retreat to develop understanding and agreement on plans, priorities, and protocols for successfully leading the City in the coming year.
The 2025 City Council retreat is currently proposed to be held on January 17-18, 2025 or January 24-25, 2025. A draft topic list includes 2025 Work Plan/Priorities; Revisioning Council Advisory Committees/Commissions; Long-term Budget Discussion; Council Schedule Discussion; Council Committee Assignments/Mayor Pro Tem Assignment; Review of Council Working Agreements; Walking Tour/Art Break; Interpersonal/Relationship-Building Activity (New Councilmember); Safety Briefing and Equity Training/Topic.
The proposed retreat facilitator is Amy Leneker. The preferred location will also be discussed.
