Presenter(s):

Susan Clark, City of Olympia

Background and Analysis:

Executive Committee meetings for the Sea Level Rise Response Collaborative are typically scheduled during the last meeting of the preceding year.

The by-laws of the Olympia Sea Level Rise Response Collaborative State:

The Executive Committee shall generally meet quarterly, typically in March, June, September, and December. The Executive Committee can shift its schedule or schedule additional meetings if deemed necessary or timely. Meetings may be held in-person or virtually. Attendance at in-person meetings of the Executive Committee may, in special situations, be by telephonic or electronic means. Special meetings may be held at the call of the Chair, or upon written request to the Executive Committee from a quorum of representatives.

In 2023, the Executive Committee met on the first Friday of the month, from 12:00 - 1:30pm. Following this schedule, staff have proposed the following virtual meeting schedule for 2024:

                     March 1, 2024, 12:00 - 1:30pm

                     June 7, 2024, 12:00 - 1:30pm

                     September 6, 2024, 12:00 - 1:30pm

                     December 6, 2024, 12:00 - 1:30pm

Climate Analysis:

Scheduling the 2024 meetings will not impact Olympia’s climate strategies.

Equity Analysis:

Virtual meetings may make it easier for community members to join the Collaborative meetings. However, meeting during the day may make participation more difficult for community members with daytime jobs.
