Background and Analysis:

Each October, the City asks volunteers to fill vacated positions on advisory bodies. As part of the application process, advisory bodies may include up to three questions oriented towards their unique focus. These questions help the BPAC decide which applicants to recommend to the Community Livability and Public Safety Committee.

In previous years, the BPAC asked applicants:

1.                     Describe your participation with walking, rolling and biking in Olympia.

2.                     Do you have a unique perspective on walking, rolling and biking? If so, please explain.

3.                     Have you done any other volunteer work in the community? If so, please describe it.

This is an opportunity for the BPAC to discuss these questions, suggest alternatives, and decide which three questions to ask each applicant.

Options:

1.                     Update the questions

2.                     Use the current questions for the applications
