Background and Analysis:
Process
Each year, Olympia advisory committees submit draft work plans to the City Council's Community Livability and Public Safety Committee. After reviewing the work plans, CLPS makes a recommendation to the City Council on whether to accept them. Advisory committee work plans run from April 2025 to March 2026.

Work Plan
The draft work plan includes:

? Reviewing proposed changes to the Engineering Development & Design Standards as needed.
? Briefings about the sidewalk inventory.
? Briefing about an update to the Street Safety Plan.
? Briefings about State/Pacific and Capitol Way/Blvd street reconfigurations.

These are all in addition to the committee's annual review of the Capital Facilities Plan.

The BPAC work plan interfaces with City staff's work plan. Staff can support six BPAC meetings in the calendar year of 2025. This year, Transportation Planning staff is working on:

? Analyzing an inventory of the state of repair of sidewalks
? Pursuing grant opportunities to fund projects
? Updating and maintaining Geographic Information Systems data, which is foundational to our work

Options:
Option 1: Accept the draft work plan, and refer it to the City Council
Option 2: Change the draft work plan, accept it, and refer it to the City Council

If the Committee does not accept a work plan at this meeting, it may miss the deadline to submit the work plan to CLPS.
