Staff Recommendation:

Move to approve the certification of the Entry-Level Firefighter-Paramedic Register effective February 17, 2026.

Background:

Based on Civil Service Rule V, Registers, Initial Eligibility Lists, initial eligibility lists were established with candidates who successfully met the qualifications of Entry-Level Firefighter-Paramedic and applied internally following an announcement regarding a paramedic school opportunity. Two (2) candidates applied and two (2) candidates were invited to interview. Two (2) candidates participated, and two (2) candidates passed. Two (2) candidates have been placed on the register.

 

One (1) candidate was Male and one (1) candidate was Female. One (1) candidate was Black/African American and one (1) candidate was Two or More Races. The interview panel consisted of OFD Assistant Fire Chief of EMS, Kevin Maltz, OFD Lieutenant, Steven Busz, OFD Paramedic Lieutenant, Kehlen Dorsey, and OPD Police Officer, Ryan Donald.

 

 

Findings:

Two (2) candidates successfully met the qualifications, passed the interview and have been placed on the register in accordance with a score of 73.00 - 86.50.
