Staff Contact:

Andy Haub, Water Resources Director, 360.753.8475

Background and Analysis:

The Utility Advisory Committee (UAC) reviews and forwards recommended agenda items to City Council each year for the upcoming April to March time period. Utility staff typically develop the draft plan with UAC input on potential topics. After UAC approval of the work plan in February, Staff will forward it to the General Government committee, with Council adoption in March 2019.

The draft work plan, as proposed by staff, emphasizes four key areas that focus on utility policy and finances:

Waste ReSources new facility and recycling updates

LOTT Reclaimed Water Infiltration Study and finances

                     Update to the Wastewater Plan

Overall Utility budgets, rates, general facility charges, capital facility plan and Lifeline Rates

Additionally, the UAC needs to elect a Chair and Vice-Chair to take effect April 1, 2019.

The current Chair and Vice-Chair are Dever Haffner-Ratliffe and Mike Buffo, respectively.
