Background:
Based on Civil Service Rule V, Registers, Initial Eligibility Lists, initial eligibility lists were established with candidates who passed the Public Safety Testing written and physical exams. Sixty-two (62) candidates were invited to the phase 1 suitability assessment. Twenty-seven (27) candidates have participated in the phase 1 suitability assessment, and eleven (11) successfully passed. Eleven (11) candidates were invited to an oral interview and eleven (11) candidates participated. Five (5) candidates successfully passed the oral interview; however, one (1) candidate withdrew after the oral interviews were completed.
Four (4) candidates were male. Two (2) were White/Caucasian, one (1) candidate was African America/Black, and one (1) candidate was Asian/Pacific Islander. Interviews for this group were held on multiple dates. The May 28th interview panel consisted of OPD Sergeant Aaron Ficek, OPD Officer Javier Sola Del Vigo, and Community Member, Ron Parker. The June 30th interview panel consisted of OPD Sergeant Eric Henrichsen, OPD Officer Cutter Spithaler, and Community Member, Tawnya Smith.
Findings:
Four (4) candidates have passed the phase 1 suitability assessment and the oral interview and have been placed on the register with one (1) existing candidate in accordance with scores of 79.27 - 84.41.
