Background and Analysis:
Each year the Planning Commission has the opportunity to conduct a retreat. Topics for discussion at the retreat are determined by the Commission. Staff assists with logistics and arranging for any guest speakers.
The Commission is interested in learning more about housing construction and development, costs, barriers, and potential incentives. On it’s work program for this year, Item 3.3 is for Listening Sessions to hear from the Council of Neighborhood Associations, Recognized Neighborhood Associations, Builders, Business Owners and others related to development costs and challenges. This could occur all at one meeting or different groups could be invited to different listening sessions.
Climate Analysis:
A climate analysis will be provided for retreat discussion topics for which a staff report is prepared.
Equity Analysis:
An equity analysis will be provided for retreat discussion topics for which a staff report is prepared.
Neighborhood/Community Interests (if known):
The level of community interest will vary, depending on the topic(s) selected for discussion. The Planning Commission retreat is a public meeting and all members of the community are welcome to attend to listen to the discussion.
