Issue:
Shall reference to the Committee of the Chairs be removed from Olympia Municipal Code?
Committee Recommendation:
General Government Committee recommends removing the reference to Committee of the Chairs. A similiar group can be formed as an ad hoc committee in the future. The full Council discussed this topic in a Study Session on November 20.
City Manager's Recommendation:
Move to adopt an Ordinance repealing subsection 2.06.010.D, titled Committee of the Chairs, from Olympia Municipal Code as recommended by General Government Committee and discussed by the full Council in Study Session.

Background and Analysis:
The Committee of the Chairs was created by a prior Council to provide coordination between chairs of the Council's standing committees and to consider or clarify miscellanous topics which do not fall under the scope of the standing committee. The Committee did not meet on a regular basis, and has not functioned for at least two years.
Council has the option to form - at any time - an special purpose ad hoc committee.
