Background and Analysis:
Local artist, Carrie Ziegler has designed a collaborative mural to support community outreach for the City of Olympia's Climate Risk and Vulnerability Assessment (CRVA).

The purpose of this project is to collect Climate Impact Statements from community members, which describe the potential impacts of climate change on populations, systems, assets, services. These Impact Statements represent community perspectives and concerns about the current and future impacts of climate change in Olympia.

By incorporating collaborative art into this community engagement effort, the City and Artist aim to create an engagement experience that is rich, collaborative, and builds towards something not only beautiful, but hopeful.

Climate Analysis:
The CRVA mural will not directly impact Olympia's climate mitigation strategies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. However, the CRVA will help inform future work to build community resilience to the anticipated impacts of climate change that cannot be avoided.

Equity Analysis:
Climate change affects everyone, but it does not affect all people equally. Some communities experience disproportionate climate impacts due to existing vulnerabilities and socioeconomic disparities, as well systemic environment...
