Background and Analysis:
The City entered into an Interagency Agreement ("IAA") with Washington State Department of Enterprise Services in August 2014 to provide management services for energy and utility conservation projects and energy monitoring services on behalf of the City. The Agreement allows the City to pursue energy efficiency projects using DES' project management services.
This Amendment allows the City to pursue an energy audit at the Fire Station Headquarters. The audit is estimated to cost $3,505 and will identify energy conservation project recommendations with detailed cost information. This audit is important because the HVAC system has started to fail and needs immediate repair. An energy efficient and cost effective HVAC system replacement recommendation will be included in the audit report. If approved, the audit will be completed by the end of December with recommendations to staff by January.
