Background and Analysis:
One of the functions of the PBIA is to support and promote events and activities that enhance the downtown community. The PBIA provides funding for a variety of projects and events with different organizations with this sponsorship process.
There are three event/project sponsorship requests before the PBIA in April:
• Pride Parade
• The Bridge Music Project Sweet 16 Dance Battle
• Proposal to install a permanent community bulletin board by the food carts at 4th and Plum Avenues

The Pride Parade is an inclusive event that celebrates the LGBTQ+ community in Olympia. The Bridge Music Project works especially with youth who have faced trauma or high barriers to family and economic security in their lives; their mission is to equip youth with tools for self-expression and understanding through music, mentorship and community.
