Title
Recognition Regarding Significant Impacts for I-5 and US 101 in Olympia for the Weekends of September 12 and 19, 2014

Report
Background and Analysis:
Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) has issued an alert about an upcoming high-impact project that will affect drivers in the Olympia Area.

WSDOT is asking drivers to consider avoiding Interstate 5 and US Highway 101 during the September 12 and September 19 weekends.

Weather permitting, over the weekends of September 12 and 19, crews working to repair a bridge expansion joint will require ramp and lane closures for north and south I-5.  Traffic on nearby US Highway 101 approaching I-5 will also see delays.

The best plan of action is to avoid I-5 in Olympia completely over those two weekends. Drivers who must use this portion of I-5 are strongly encouraged to plan ahead and allow plenty of time to reach their destinations.
