Background and Analysis:
The PBIA has historically funded hanging flower baskets displayed in downtown Olympia. At the November 5th PBIA Board meeting the board voted to approve $20,000 to support the purchase and maintance of flower baskets for summer 2026. The approved PBIA flower basket budget was made contingent upon the City of Olympia approving another $20,000 through the City's budget process to further support the flower basket project. The purchase of flower baskets are estimated to cost roughly $10,000.
Nursery's request advanced notice for large flower basket orders, typically with a notice deadline by the end of the year. City staff will proceed in placing an order for 2026 flower baskets within December 2025.

Ensuring that PBIA members are able to determine how to spend current funds for next year ensures a broad and equitable representation of downtown stakeholders.
