Background and Analysis:
PRAC Chair and Vice-chair
According to the Advisory Committee By-laws, Chair and Vice-chair elections should take place every year in November or December, however because PRAC does not hold a regular meeting in either of those months it is included on the January agenda. The Chair facilitates PRAC meetings and coordinates with staff on the agenda prior to meetings. The Vice-chair fills in for the Chair in instances when the Chair is not available.
A motion will be needed to elect a Chair and Vice-chair for the remainder of 2025.
OMPD Advisory Committee
In 2016, the Olympia Metropolitan Park District (OMPD) Board created an advisory committee to create transparency and public reporting on the use of OMPD and other dedicated City of Olympia Parks funds. The advisory committee is to be comprised of five members, two of whom are PRAC members and recommended by PRAC. The terms shall be for four years. As Daniel Farber is stepping down, there will be an open PRAC member seat to fill on the OMPD Advisory Committee. The OMPD Advisory Committee meets twice a year in May and October.
A motion will be needed to appoint a PRAC Member to serve on the OMPD Advisory Committee.
