Background and Analysis:
Muslim American Heritage Month celebrates the longstanding presence and contributions of Americans of Muslim heritage to the United States. Although Muslim communities in the Pacific Northwest are diverse in culture, language, and tradition, they share a common history of enriching local communities through cultural, economic, and social contributions. This proclamation aligns with the City’s ongoing efforts to highlight the histories and contributions of communities that help shape Olympia’s identity.
