Background and Analysis:
During Program Year (PY) 2015 (September 1, 2015 - August 31, 2016) the City of Olympia invested a total of $501,538.04 in federal Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds to support a number of priority projects in Olympia. City CDBG funds are received through a combination of annual federal CDBG entitlement grants, and repayments on housing rehabilitation loans provided through the CDBG program in previous years.

The original CDBG Annual Action Plan was amended in April 2016 to reprogram funds to several other priorities, including the purchase of a dilapidated building; a micro-enterprise training and assistance program as well as some minor budget adjustments to other activities.

At the conclusion of PY 2015, final expenditures show that the primary focus was on public facilities - with a total of $242,360 being expended on the purchase of a dilapidated building; phase one of an alley lighting project and the remainder of a building demolition project on the Isthmus.
