Background and Analysis:
It is the practice of the Olympia Arts Commission to include a Commissioner on all public art juries. Both of these are three member juries, and other members have included the selected artists for the project the year prior and a general member of the public.
Climate Analysis:
Recommending jurors for public art projects should not significantly impact the climate.
Equity Analysis:
Recommending juries that include representatives from diverse communities can be a way to both encourage a diverse pool of applicants and include diverse perspectives in the artist selection process.
Neighborhood/Community Interests (if known):

Options:
Engage in discussion and provide staff with recommends for jury members.
Financial Impact:
Both the Percival Plinth and Arts Walk cover art projects are included in the 2024 Municipal Art Plan.
