Background and Analysis:
Need to hold an election to fulfill PBIA Board for additional members. As an election was not filled in fall 2024 new members or the reelection of previous members is needed. At the May PBIA meeting a select number of PBIA board members volunteered to form an election committee. That election committee will provide the full board with an election status.
Climate Analysis:
Holding an election for new PBIA Board members does not directly impact climate goals but could influence future decisions affecting sustainability downtown.
Equity Analysis:
Holding an election for new PBIA Board members is an opportunity to ensure broader and more equitable representation of downtown stakeholders. Choosing to hold an election could reinforce existing disparities by limiting leadership opportunities to a small or less diverse group. A transparent, inclusive election process would help distribute leadership benefit more equitably and foster stronger trust and participation among business owners and community members.
