Background:
Based on Civil Service Rule V, Registers, Initial Eligibility Lists, initial eligibility lists were established with candidates who successfully met the qualifications of Lateral Firefighter-Paramedic and applied through Workday. Nineteen (19) candidates applied and nineteen (19) were invited to interview. Seven (7) candidates participated in the interview. Five (5) candidates passed the interview and proceeded to a medical skills assessment. Four (4) candidates passed the medical skills assessment and advanced to the chief's interview. Three (3) candidates passed the chief's interview. Three (3) candidates have been placed on the register.
Two (2) candidates were Male and one (1) candidate was Female. Three (3) candidates were White/Caucasian. The interview panel consisted of OFD Battalion Chief, Jason Waters OFD Lieutenant Jordan Wernet, OFD Firefighter-Paramedic Roy Rubio, and community member Chayle Turner. The medical skills assessment panel consisted of OFD Battalion Chief Matt Gantenbein, OFD Firefighter/Paramedic, Elliott Townsend, OFD Firefighter/Paramedic, Ciaran Keogh, and Lacey Fire District Assistant Chief of Medical Services, Michael Hughes. The chief's interview panel consisted of OFD Deputy Fire Chief, Hillory Flowers and OFD Assistant Fire Chief of EMS, Kevin Maltz.
Findings:
Three (3) candidates successfully met the qualifications, passed the oral board, and passed the chief's interview. Three (3) candidates have been placed on the register in accordance with scores of 82.9 - 87.5.
