Background and Analysis:
City Council approved the scope of work for the consideration of the creation of the Community Renewal Area within Olympia at its April 9, 2013 City Council meeting. The scope of work includes two overlapping components. The first component is a market-wide assessment of economic development opportunities across the entire city and the second component is a specific look at downtown.
On April 26, 2013 the committee will be asked to provide the consultant with feedback and direction about Component A.

Financial Impact:
The consulting contract is for a total of $105,000 with $80,000 coming from Olympia and $25,000 coming from the Community Economic Revitalization Board.
