Background:
Based on Civil Service Rule V, Registers, Initial Eligibility Lists, initial eligibility lists were established with candidates who successfully met the qualifications of Entry-Level Firefighter and had applied/tested with Public Safety Test (PST). The top two hundred (200) candidates were pulled from our PST portal and invited to interviews based on interview availability on a first come, first serve basis. Sixty-two (62) candidates accepted and scheduled for interview. Thirty-five (35) candidates withdrew, canceled, or failed the interview. Twenty-seven (27) candidates passed the interview and proceeded to a Chief's Interview. Ten (10) candidates did not successfully pass the Chief's Interview. Seventeen (17) candidates successfully passed the Chief's Interview. Following completion of the Chief's Interview process, two (2) candidates were removed from eligibility. One (1) accepted another offer and withdrew, and one (1) could not be contacted regarding next steps in the hiring process. Fifteen (15) candidates have been placed on the register.
Twelve (12) candidates were Male and three (3) were Female. Twelve candidates (12) were White/Caucasian and three (3) were Two or More Races. The interview panel consisted of OFD Firefighter/Paramedic Gracen Hurst, OFD Firefighter Clayton Christian, OFD Fire Mechanic Michael Hulbert, and community member Rob Bradley. The Chief's Interview panel consisted of OFD Assistant Fire Chief of EMS, Hillory Flowers.
