Background and Analysis:
The Department uses performance measures to determine and communicate levels of success in delivering services to the community. This data-based approach measures whether the Department is meeting expectations in many different areas such as park acres, park condition, recreation activities, and access to art. The Department uses the performance metrics to help inform data-centered decisions, improve ability to tell data stories, improve performance, and demonstrate progress towards achieving the community's vision.

The City of Olympia Performance Measures Dashboard went live last year on the City's website. This online data dashboard showcases the city-wide metrics categorized by Comprehensive Plan Focus Area as well as Department measures. The Department has 20 measures that will be updated annually. The 2025 data has been uploaded and will be reviewed in more detail with the Committee.
