Whether to approve and then sign a letter from the Olympia City Council to Congressman Heck supporting his position not to vote in favor of the TPP until his concerns on the agreement are satisfactorily answered.

Background and Analysis:

Councilmember Clark Gilman drafted a letter for Council signature to Congressman Denny Heck supporting his position not to vote in favor of the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) until his concerns about the agreement have received satisfactory answers.  Councilmember Gilman presented the letter to Council at the Oct. 25, 2016, business meeting.  The Council concurred to have the letter placed on the consent calendar for Nov. 1, 2016.
