Issue:
Request for Change of Color and Fence Materials for the Olympia Regional Learning Academy.
Background:
The Olympia Regional Learning Academy was approved by the Design Review Board (DRB) on August 8,20I3. The applicant is now seeking modifications to the exterior building colors and fence material along the north property line, and has prepared the attached narrative and exhibits for your consideration.
The color scheme approved by the DRB used green, blue and gray colors. The new proposed color scheme uses more earthy red and brown colors. Changes in the use of composite wood at the entry are also proposed. Either color option is acceptable to staff.
Fence material approved by the DRB was black vinyl coated fence to complement decorative fencing along the west property line. The applicant is now seeking approval to change the vinyl coated chain link to galvanized chain link. Staff prefers the use of vinyl coated fence to reflect the overall quality of materials used on the project, but recognizes the District's concerns regarding maintenance and cost.
