Background and Analysis:

The Westside Police Station located at 221 N Perry has been vandalized several times over the last few months. Public Works and the Olympia Police designed a project that will potentially reduce the amount of time and money needed to respond to future vandalism. Staff will share the project and the associated costs with Finance Committee.

Neighborhood/Community Interests (if known):

The Northwest Neighborhood Association is pursuing a neighborhood matching grant to paint a mural on the Westside Station. The project is requesting funds and support to have parents and 5th grade students paint the exterior of the building. It would be a collaboration between the City, the Northwest Neighborhood Association, and Garfield Elementary school.

Options:

Various options will be discussed with Finance Committee.

Financial Impact:

The financial impact will be dependent on the option(s) chosen.
