Staff Recommendation:

Move to approve the certification of the Firefighter/Paramedic Register effective October 15, 2024.

Background:

Based on Civil Service Rule V, Registers, Initial Eligibility Lists, initial eligibility lists were established with candidates who applied and met the assigned criteria for Firefighter-Paramedic positions. Six (6) candidates applied, and six (6) candidates were interviewed. Five (5) candidates passed the interview. Five candidates also successfully passed the medical evaluation: four (4) with Medic One and one (1) with OFD. Five (5) candidates have been placed on the register.

 

Five (5) candidates were male. Two (2) candidates were White/Caucasian, two (2) candidates were Unknown race, and one (1) candidate was Hispanic/Latino. The interview panel consisted of OFD Assistant Chief Mark Schreck, OFD Acting Captain-Medical Services Officer Troy Churchwell, OFD BC Matt Gantenbein, and Nicole Anderson (OFD CARES/community member).

 

Findings:

Five (5) candidates passed the interview and have been placed on the register, along with the one (1) existing candidate on the register, in accordance with scores of 80.14-74.02
