Background and Analysis:
On June 7, 2012, staff conducted an informational briefing with the Finance Committee to review our process for the surplus of excess property. At that time, staff shared some of the informal guidelines utilized in the decision-making process for the sale of surplus property and that the City did not have a formal, written process for dealing with it. The Finance Committee stated that they would like to see a formal process developed for making decisions on excess/surplus properties in the City's holdings.
At the September 13, 2012 Finance Committee meeting, staff shared an initial Draft set of Procedures for the Evaluation of City Real Property for Reuse and Disposal. The Finance Committee provided comments and recommended that a revised Draft be forwarded to the full Council for review and approval.

2. Provide comments and/or edits to the Procedures for the Evaluation of City Real Property for Reuse and Disposal and return to Council with changes.
3. Do not approve the Procedures for the Evaluation of City Real Property for Reuse and Disposal and provide staff with direction on next steps.
